This piece was inspired by the song Blackbird. I created this in 2008, a few months after we lost one of our grandchild to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. This piece reminded me to ‘fly’ even though I felt my wings had been broken.
This tutorial takes you through creating the doll, sculpting the blackbird and creating a mixed media box for her to sit in.
The doll is 12" tall, seated. Finished, the piece measures 9” x 17” x 5”.
**You are not purchasing a finished item. I do not sell readymade dolls. It is a DIY (Do It Yourself) project. This pattern/class tutorial will instruct you how to make your "Blackbird" doll.
